Strong schools are a shared investment. When local businesses, families, neighbors, and educators come together, they can help create opportunities that reach beyond what school budgets alone can provide.

Worcester County Education Foundation helps connect that community support with meaningful learning experiences for Worcester County Public Schools students. Our mission begins with a belief that every student should have access to a high-level education—and that our community has a role in making that possible.

Connecting Community Generosity + Classroom Ideas

Teachers see opportunities every day to help students understand a difficult concept, discover an interest, or build confidence. Sometimes, bringing those ideas to life requires additional resources.

Through WCEF Teacher Grants, individuals or teams employed by Worcester County Public Schools can request funding for projects that launch, expand, or meaningfully enhance learning opportunities for students. Requests may range from $100 to $5,000, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

A proposal might include materials for hands-on science investigations, books that expand a classroom reading project, or supplies that help students turn their writing into a finished publication. These are examples of ideas educators could propose; each application is reviewed for student need and potential impact, alignment with WCEF’s mission, feasibility, and responsible use of funds.

The purpose is to supplement funding normally provided through school budgets, giving educators another way to pursue thoughtful ideas that benefit students.

What Community Support Can Look Like

Supporting local education can begin with a financial contribution, but it also includes helping people understand the opportunities available.

  • For local businesses, that could mean contributing to WCEF’s work, sharing information about the foundation with customers and employees, or starting a conversation with us about ways to get involved.

  • For families and neighbors, it could mean making a donation, sharing a foundation update, or helping an educator learn about the Teacher Grant program.

  • For educators, it could mean submitting a proposal or encouraging a colleague to apply. A clear explanation of a classroom need helps connect community generosity with a practical opportunity to make a difference.

Every shared story and introduction can help more people understand what WCEF does and why support for local schools matters.

Showing Our Community What Its Support Makes Possible

Community support deserves a clear connection to student impact.

Teachers who receive WCEF grants are required to provide a brief follow-up describing their project’s results. Depending on the project, that might include student work, participation, learning outcomes, observations, or feedback.

WCEF may also share project stories and updates through our communications, following applicable WCPS policies and requirements. These stories help supporters see how an educator’s idea becomes a learning experience—and help other teachers imagine what might be possible in their own classrooms.

An Invitation to Get Involved

Our schools are part of the daily life and future of Worcester County. Supporting students means investing in the young people who will become our neighbors, coworkers, business owners, and community leaders.

WCEF provides a way for that shared commitment to become something practical: resources, projects, and learning opportunities shaped by educators who know their students.

We invite community members and local businesses to support the foundation, share our work, and help more educators learn about the funding available.

Have an idea for your students? WCPS employees can apply individually or as a team for a Teacher Grant. Applications require principal approval, an itemized budget, and supporting documentation. Funded projects must be implemented within 12 months of receiving funding. Funding is limited, and awards are not guaranteed.

Completed applications and required supporting documentation should be submitted to KHFogle@Worcesterk12.org.

Together, we can help more classroom ideas become opportunities for Worcester County students.
