Worcester County Education Foundation recently celebrated three teacher grant awards totaling $7,666.87 and a generous $10,000 donation from Dockside Pocomoke.

These investments reflect the connection at the heart of WCEF’s work: a community supporting educators and helping create meaningful opportunities for local students.

Celebrating Our Teacher Grant Recipients

WCEF Co-Chairs Kristie Fogle and Bobby Hammond presented grants to three educators across Worcester County Public Schools:

  • Jessica Gonzalez Paradis, Stephen Decatur High School — $1,734

  • Kristin Parker, Berlin Intermediate School — $976

  • Chef Phil Cropper, Worcester Technical High School, Culinary Arts — $4,956.87

Together, these awards provide $7,666.87 in direct support for educators and students, helping bring classroom ideas and learning opportunities to life.

Teachers know their students’ interests, strengths, and needs. WCEF Teacher Grants give educators an opportunity to build on that knowledge by requesting resources for projects that launch, expand, or meaningfully enhance student learning.

These awards reflect the foundation’s commitment to supporting educators as they turn their ideas into opportunities for the students they serve.

A Generous Gift From Dockside Pocomoke

WCEF also received a $10,000 donation from Dockside Pocomoke, owned by Jamie and Caitlin Evans.

Dockside Pocomoke presents a donation check for $10,000 to WCEF on May 27, 2026.

Their generosity demonstrates the important role local businesses can play in supporting public education. A contribution to WCEF helps sustain the foundation’s work and its mission to help ensure every student has access to a high-level education.

We are grateful to Jamie and Caitlin Evans and the Dockside Pocomoke team for choosing to invest in the future of Worcester County students. Their support offers an encouraging example of how businesses can give back to the community they call home.

Recognizing the People Behind the Progress

Joining the grant presentations were educators and school representatives, including Stephen Decatur High School Principal Jennifer Garton and Berlin Intermediate School Principal Amy Gallagher.

Supporting students takes the involvement of many people. Educators develop ideas, school leaders support their implementation, and community partners help make additional resources possible. WCEF connects those efforts through a shared commitment to student success.

To our grant recipients, school leaders, and supporters: thank you for the work and generosity behind these celebrations.
